Bandai Namco has a long history of being affiliated with the world’s most popular anime programs, and this association even extends to collectibles and action figures.
One such collection is the Anime Heroes line, which includes action figures of some of anime’s most iconic characters from shows, including One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, and Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac.
Bandai was kind enough to share some of these figures with our team. I got to see Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, Kakashi Hatake from Naruto Shippuden, and Phoenix Ikki from Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac up close and personal! I started with Luffy because he’s one of my all-time favorite characters, and the craftsmanship of his figure blew me away.
The attention to detail on his face and clothes is impressive, particularly in the expressiveness of his eyes, which reflects the manga’s distinct graphic style.
His outstanding joint articulation and different hand options were also a welcome surprise, allowing him to be set up in various cool action stances. The lack of support was a drawback, as I struggled to get the figure to stand up on its own.

The Full Lineup of Character Figures From Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac
- Pegasus Seiya
- Gemini Saga
- Sagittarius Aiolos
- Phoenix Ikki
- Aries Mu
- Virgo Shaka
Phoenix Ikki from Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac, an iconic character from what many believe to be a cornerstone series, was the final figurine I received. With his theatrical clothing and long coattails, Ikki cuts an impressive figure, yet these qualities make him challenging for the position. He has alternate hand options, just like the other figures in the Anime Heroes line, although he doesn’t come with a stand.
The Anime Heroes collection is a terrific option whether you’re an ardent collector or just looking for a good gift for the anime-obsessed kid in your life.
Bandai Namco’s figures accurately represent some of anime’s most nuanced characters. Furthermore, the One Piece and Naruto Shippuden collections are continually expanding, so there will be more possibilities to collect other favorite characters in the future!
